Yes — folding-arm awnings give retractable overhead shade, and zip screens close in the sides against low sun, wind and insects. Both can be motorised with Somfy, including sun and wind automation.
For view windows: sunscreen roller fabric (3–5% openness) — it cuts glare and heat while you keep the outlook. For the most exposed elevations, external shading (louvres, awnings or screens) stops the heat before it reaches the glass, which no interior blind can match.
With a Somfy wind sensor fitted, retractable awnings pull themselves in automatically when wind passes a set threshold — no one needs to be home. For permanently windy positions we recommend wind-rated zip screens instead of fabric awnings.
